Welcome!
Hilliard Family Medicine began as a single-physician practice in
1985, and has since grown into multi-physician group. Our
board-certified family physicians are available to
provide quality medical care to patients of all ages. We
welcome everyone, from newborns to our geriatric neighbors.
While we focus on outpatient care, we
utilize the services and specialists at Riverside Methodist
Hospital, Grant Medical Center, and Columbus Children’s Hospital
for both inpatient and outpatient diagnostics and treatment.
Please look around our website, and see what Hilliard Family
Medicine can offer you.
Practice Philosophy!
We are committed to delivering
high-quality medical care. While actively serving the community's acute care needs, we also believe in the
aggressive treatment of the many chronic conditions that can slowly
deteriorate a person's health over the long term. We are also
aware that we cannot be all things to all patients at all times, and
have thoughtfully allied ourselves
with some of the best medical specialists in the
Columbus area. Finally, we
place a strong emphasis on preventive medicine, believing that early
detection of risk factors through age-appropriate
screenings will ultimately improve our patients' level of health
throughout their lives.
What is Family
Medicine?
Family
Medicine is the medical specialty which is concerned with the total
health care of the individual and the family. Family physicians are trained across nearly-all medical subspecialties to be skilled
in
treating medical problems of wide range and level of severity.
Through education and experience, family physicians are suited to care
for individuals of all ages, or has long been said, "from the cradle to
the grave."
What is Board Certification?
The American Board of Medical
Specialties has established Family Medicine as a unique medical area of
expertise, and as such, certifies physicians under the American Board of
Family Medicine (ABFM) who have met several specific qualifications.
These include completion of an approved Family Medicine residency
program, passage of an initial and periodic renewal written
examinations, and completion of continuing medical education
requirements.
